Biosimilar

Biosimilars go through their own regulatory approval process demonstrating no clinically meaningful difference from the original biologic drug in safety or effectiveness. They are one reason systemic therapy pricing varies — a price index or quote may specify originator vs. biosimilar because the drug itself, not the administration process, drives most of the cost difference.
