JCI (Joint Commission International)

Joint Commission International surveys hospitals against a published set of patient-safety standards covering areas like infection control, medication management, and surgical protocols. Accreditation is granted only after an on-site survey and is re-surveyed on a cycle rather than being permanent — a hospital's status can be checked directly on JCI's own public accredited-organizations directory rather than taken on the hospital's word alone.
