Glioblastoma

Glioblastoma is a fast-growing, aggressive brain tumor — a grade IV astrocytoma.

Glioblastoma, also called glioblastoma multiforme, is a fast-growing astrocytoma — a tumor that forms from astrocytes, a type of brain cell. It grows and spreads very quickly, and its tumor cells look very different from normal cells. It is classified as a grade IV tumor, the most aggressive category in the WHO grading system.

Brain tumors like glioblastoma are assigned a WHO grade (glioblastoma is grade IV, the highest) rather than a TNM stage.
