Cancer treatment in Istanbul for patients from Libya
Patients from Libya have long travelled to Istanbul for oncology care, often through family networks or a government treatment-abroad programme. Reports in Arabic can be sent in and medical translation is part of the free service, and the second opinion gives you an itemized, comparable treatment plan before any commitment — a checkable plan, not a claim that treating abroad is better for your case.
Getting from Libya to Istanbul

Flights connect Istanbul with Tripoli, Benghazi and Misrata, direct or one-stop depending on the carrier and season. We confirm the current best routing for your trip once your case is scheduled.
For Libyan ordinary passport holders, Turkey's rule is age-based: citizens under 16 and over 45 are exempt from a visa for tourism stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, while those aged 16–45 require a visa — an e-visa is available online for eligible applicants who already hold a qualifying valid visa (verified against mfa.gov.tr, 17 Jul 2026). Many oncology patients fall in the exempt age bands; check your own case against the visa & length-of-stay guide, and your coordinator prepares the hospital invitation letter that often accompanies a visa application.
Consultation is handled in English and your Arabic-language reports are translated as part of the free service — you don't need to translate anything yourself first.
Paying for treatment: private, or a government committee
Many patients from Libya travel through a government treatment-abroad committee or embassy health office rather than paying privately. If that is your route, the eligibility, approvals and paperwork are set entirely by that authority — confirm the current process and any committee-approval or referral steps with them directly before travelling; we cannot determine, influence or guarantee any of it.
If you are paying privately or hold an insurance policy, confirm what applies with the payer in writing before booking — including pre-authorization and documentation. We could not find a general provision that automatically reimburses elective treatment in Turkey; your own arrangement may differ, so please verify it.
We don't process claims, handle sponsorship approvals, or guarantee funding. We can provide itemized invoices and medical documentation from the treating hospital for you or your sponsor to submit. This is general information, not financial or insurance advice.
