Getting from Georgia to Istanbul
Direct flights connect Istanbul with Tbilisi several times a day, typically around 2.5 hours, with seasonal routes also from Batumi and Kutaisi — check current routing and schedules directly with the airlines when you book.
Georgian ordinary passport holders can enter Turkey visa-free for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, for tourism, transit or medical visits (verified against mfa.gov.tr, 22 Jul 2026). Under the Georgia–Turkey bilateral arrangement, Georgian nationals may also travel on a valid national ID card rather than a passport — confirm your own document against the visa & length-of-stay guide, which is the authority for the current rule. If a longer stay or any hospital invitation letter is needed, request the letter directly from the hospital you choose.

Paying for treatment: private, or employer insurance

If you hold private or employer insurance — including a policy held through work or through family abroad — confirm what applies with the insurer in writing before booking, including pre-authorization, approved hospitals, and required documentation. We could not find a general provision that automatically reimburses elective treatment in Turkey, so your own arrangement may differ; please verify it directly.
